Small engines share many characteristics with their larger counterparts, including breakdowns.

Repair and overhaul of Gas engines, Diesel engines and Electric motors. Besides engines I may also work on Transmissions, Brakes, Ignition systems, Hydraulic systems, Suspension systems, Fuel systems, Electrical systems and minor body repairs. I service all makes and models not like most dealers that only service the products they sell. The repairing and servicing of Small Engine’s. Ranging from Recreational power equipment, Construction equipment, Marine / boat equipment, Emergency powered equipment, Lawn and Garden equipment,  Aquaculture equipment, Motorbikes, ATV’s, Trailers, Pumps, Generators, Road equipment, Concrete/cement equipment. Wood working / logging equipment. Carpentry equipment. Plumbing equipment and many more types of equipment.

Small Engines, like large engines, require periodic service to minimize the chance of breakdowns and to keep them operating at peak performance. During routine equipment maintenance, I follow a checklist including the inspection and cleaning of drive systems, brakes, electrical systems, fuel (injection) systems, plugs, carburetors, hydraulic systems and other parts. Following inspection, I usually repair or adjust parts that do not work properly, or replace unfixable parts. Routine maintenance is normally a major part of my work as a mechanic.

When equipment breakdowns occur, I use various techniques to diagnose the source and extent of the problem. The mark of a skilled mechanic is the ability to diagnose mechanical, fuel, and electrical problems, and to make repairs in a minimal amount of time. Quick and accurate diagnosis requires problem-solving ability and a thorough knowledge of the equipment’s operation.

In the repair shop, I may use special computerized diagnostic testing equipment as a preliminary tool in analyzing equipment. These computers provide a systematic performance report of various components to compare to normal ratings. After pinpointing the problem, I make the needed adjustments, repairs, or replacements. Some jobs require minor adjustments or the replacement of a single item, such as a carburetor or fuel pump. In contrast, a complete engine overhaul requires a number of hours to disassemble the engine and replace worn valves, pistons, bearings, and other internal parts. I use highly specialized components and the latest computerized equipment to customize and tune equipment and engines for performance.

Licensed Marine Mechanic:

Inboard and outboard engines. Most small boats have portable outboard engines that are removed and brought into the repair shop. Larger craft, such as cabin cruisers and commercial fishing boats, are powered by diesel or gasoline inboard or inboard-outboard engines, which are only removed for major overhauls. Most of these repairs are performed at the docks or marinas. I may also work on propellers, steering mechanisms and other boat equipment.

Licensed Small Engine Mechanic:

Outdoor Power Equipment and other small engines service and repair. Lawnmowers, Garden tractors, Hedge trimmers, Chain Saws, Generators, Snow blowers, Pumps

Licensed Construction Mechanic:

Repair and maintain engines, Hydraulic systems, Transmissions, Electrical systems, and fuel systems on, farm equipment, cranes, bulldozers, air compressors, pumps, generators, road equipment, concrete / cement equipment. Wood working equipment. Electric power tools and much more.

Routine maintenance checks to ensure peak performance, safety and longevity of the equipment. Maintenance checks and comments for equipment operators usually alert me to problems. Examination of parts for damage or excessive wear. Repair, replace, clean and lubricate parts, as necessary. Testing of equipment for safety, and proper function of equipment before they are returned to the field for service.

In addition to routine repairs on equipment some clients are on a scheduled maintenance service program.  This program ensures the best possible condition of equipment minimizing down time and additional expense

The technology used in construction, Industrial and Farm equipment is becoming more sophisticated with the increase use of electronic and computer-controlled components. As a licensed mechanic I keep up to date on training and technology to ensure the best service to the client.
